Here’s What Got Cut From This Week’s ‘Drag Race AS4’ Reading Challenge

Drag Race

The premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4 arrived on our screens yesterday, and with it the most formidable bunch of queens in quite some time – if you’re not caught up yet, the episode is streaming right now over on Stan.

In the great tradition of Paris Is Burning, the new season opened with a reading challenge, which is always more interesting in All Stars, because the queens know each-other better and have more history together, leading to some jaw-dropping moments.

What we saw in the episode was fairly short, and overnight, VH-1 released a very generous extended cut of yesterday’s challenge, filled with copious unseen material, a lot of it funnier and meaner than what actually made it to air.

Gia Gunn, who is getting one hell of a villain edit this season, went all the way in on her sisters, in a way that was more cringey than funny, but veterans Latrice Royale and Manila Luzon truly showed the newer queens how it’s done.

As for that burn that Valentina placed on Latrice Royale, leaving her speechless … wow. Check it out and soak up just a little more Drag Race before next week’s episode, which, as we learned in yesterday’s preview, features the return of Stacy Lane Matthews.

Meanwhile, it was announced on Friday that Nicole Byer, host of the beloved Netflix baking show Nailed It, will be hosting a brand new Drag Race-themed podcast, along with fellow comedian Joel Kim Booster.

You can check that out next week, and don’t forget that All Stars 4 is streaming right now on Stan, along with all previous seasons of the show.
