Token Married At First Sight villain Dean Wells has revealed what happened behind the scenes after last night’s ceremonial dumping by former partner Tracey Jewel: an utterly anti-climactic drive away from the scene of 2018’s most notable on-screen breakup.
After last night’s episode, in which Jewel admitted Wells straight-up did not deserve to stay in a relationship with her, Wells told The Fix he was eventually just shuffled into a car and driven back to his hotel.
No further on-screen closure. No commiserations on set. Nothing. His emotional reckoning was cut short by the production crew’s hilariously cold decision to just… drive him away.
“Then Tracey kind of got ushered off into her car and driven off,” Wells said.
“Not long after that [the crew] were just kinda like, ‘Oh well, that’s it, Dean. See ya later,’ and I got put into a car and was driven off to my hotel.”

Despite that seemingly open-and-closed relationship, Wells said the pair did speak later that night, and came to an agreement to stay in each other’s lives in some capacity – as evidenced by their joint post-production media appearances.
You’ll be able to see how that dynamic manifests when the show airs its ‘reunion’ episode on Tuesday. Maybe this time they can air the stone-cold silence of the car rides away from the set, so we can really indulge in that sweet, sweet schadenfreude.
