In some welcome news, Sir David Attenborough has debuted the trailer for his new BBC nature series. It’s called Seven Worlds, One Planet and it features a musical collaboration between our very own Sia and the legendary Hans Zimmer. In short, this one’s definitely on the list.

Seven Worlds, One Planet will take viewers on a journey from the baking plains of Africa to the frozen waters of Antarctica, showcasing how each distinct and unique continent has shaped its animal life. In Asia – the largest of all continents – Attenborough will guide us through life at its extreme. And in Europe, we’ll cop a look at some surprising wildlife dramas.
The seven-part series will also show the many challenges faced by animals in a modern world dominated by humanity.
During Glastonbury Festival‘s closing day, Attenborough made a surprise appearance to debut the documentary series’ trailer and congratulate Glastonbury for going plastic-free for the first time in the festival’s 49-year history.
“That is more than a million bottles of water that have not been drunk by you in plastic. Thank you! Thank you,” he celebrated.
Of Seven Worlds, One Planet, Attenborough said:
The oceans cover two-thirds of this planet of ours, there’s one third that we occupy all the time, the land that only covers one third of the globe. There are seven great continents on which we human beings live.
Each of them has its own marvellous creatures – birds and mammals, animals of all kinds. Each of them has its own glory, each of them has its own problems. We are making – the last four years – a series about those things. About those seven very different continents.
