Chris Pratt Sticks Up For Star-Lord After His Fuck Up In ‘Infinity War’

Poor beloved Chris Pratt (otherwise known as Star-Lord or Peter Quill) cannot stop copping hate for his role in basically everyone’s demise in Avengers: Infinity War.

Cast your minds back to one of the key moments of the explosive Marvel film and you’ll remember this:

Thanos is baited into a trap by the Guardians so Mantis can use her brilliant powers to lull him into sleep mode so the crew can gather ’round with the help of Spider-Man and tear that bloody gauntlet off his hand. The Guardians attempt to do this… except for Peter who wants to know what happened to Gamora.

Well, Gamora got thrown off a cliff by her batshit crazy sort-of-father-figure-Thanos and the moment Peter finds this out, he absolutely loses it and starts repeatedly punching Thanos in the face. Of course, this has to happen just as Spider-Man is seconds away from having the gauntlet off.

Thanos awakes, throws everyone off him and escapes to do his bidding and disintegrate everyone apart from Rocket and a few others.

When Peter comes back to life in the next film, everyone’s gonna slap him.

Fans were pissed, to say the least and this response highlights the majority:

Pratt first responded to all the hate with an adorable Instagram Story in which he used two action figures of Star-Lord to respond to comments of “Go fuck yourself”.

Pratt literally made one figure fuck the other and it was a laff.

Now, Pratt has again spoken up about the backlash in an interview with RadioTimes:

“Look – the guy watched his mother die, he watched as his father-figure died in his arms, he was forced to kill his own biological father.. And now has suffered the loss of the love of his life.

So I think he reacted in a way that’s very human, and I think the humanity of the Guardians of the Galaxy is what sets them apart from other superheroes. I think if we did it a hundred times I wouldn’t change a mother fucking thing.”

Fair enough.

Pratt later added, “And also, I blame Thanos, OK? Jeez, how come he’s not getting any blame?”

‘Cos Thanos is supposed to be a bloody shithead.

In all seriousness though, who wouldn’t react the way Star-Lord did when he realised the love of his life was murdered by the evil dude standing right in front of him. He is still mostly human after all.

Pratt had been doing some promo for his latest film Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom with co-star Bryce Dallas Howard.
