Chris Pratt has put our minds somewhat at ease this weekend, after promising fans that the delayed Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 will definitely be happening at some stage in the future.

James Gunn, the driving force behind the first two films, was fired by Disney last year after a controversy around several of his old Tweets, putting the future of the film up in the air.

When Variety asked Pratt about the fate of the third Guardians at the Los Angeles premiere of his current film, The Lego Movie 2, he seemed optimistic, saying:

“I promise there’ll be a third movie, I don’t know exactly what that’s going to look like, but I know everyone on board is just eager to give the fans what they want and wrap up a trilogy in a meaningful way.”

So there you have it. Gentle, sweet boy Chris Pratt would never lie to us, so I guess that means that Star-Lord and friends will ride again at some point.

I guess it also means that the character’s ‘death’ after getting snapped out of existence by Thanos in the last Avengers movie was not permanent, but we kinda figured that already.

Later this year, Chris Pratt will be seen in western The Kid. He is also doing voice work for Pixar‘s upcoming Onward, and has signed on for Jurassic World 3 and Cowboy Ninja Viking.
