Chris Pratt Has An Actual ‘Cowboy Ninja Viking’ Movie In The Works

Today in random things you should know about to cure your Royal Wedding hangover, Chris Pratt has a pet project he’s officially producing and starring in. It’s a film based on a comic book called Cowboy Ninja Viking, published by Image Comics.

Cowboy Ninja Viking – Chris Pratt goes full Chris Pratt.

You may have heard of the comic book but I never have so let’s go all in.

In this comic book turned film, Pratt will play a dude with three distinct personas. HINT: The title gives them away.

Not gonna lie, the illustrations are pretty sick:

Cowboy, Ninja, Viking

Having these three personas make Pratt the unstoppable assassin.

Okay, so from what I gather – there’s a Counter-Intelligence unit of Multiple Personality Disorder patients run by psychotherapist Dr. Sebastian Ghislain. The doc here, doesn’t sound like a top bloke as he apparently uses a bunch of drugs and therapy and stuff to turn all these patients’ multiple personalities into killer agents. These agents are known as the Triplets for there multiple personalities.

Fast forward some time and the unit somehow goes kapoot and the various members enter society as hired guns. One of these former CI agents is Duncan who is tasked with stopping a bunch of  rogue Triplets.

Let’s assume Pratt will play Duncan.

Is Chris Pratt trying to pull off his own version of Deadpool? I think he is folks, I think he is.

The film project has struggled to lift-off since news of it briefly hit the media earlier this year but yesterday The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported the film had just copped two very action-y writers to kick it into motion. One is Dan Mazeau (Wrath of the Titans) while the other is Ryan Engle (Rampage, The Commuter).

Oh, but this film gets wilder.

The director at helm is none other than Michelle MacLaren who has Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad to her name. Combine all these names and their portfolios together and you’ll either get an overdose of legendary epicness or… well Rampage – shitty-good but overall enjoyable.  Let’s hope for the former.

Oh wait, but there’s more:

The first draft of the screenplay, based on the original comics, were written up by the bloody Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese like c’mon. The draft was then reworked a little by Craig Mazin, who worked on The Hangover II. Again, combine all these names and titles together and you get I’m-Very-Interested-Now.

The film’s in pre-production at the moment but Cowboy Ninja Viking will apparently hit cinemas June 28 2019.

In other news, I want this shirt:

P.S:

Whatta legend.
