‘Stranger Things’ Star Charlie Heaton Allegedly Caught With Cocaine At LAX

British actor Charlie Heaton, one of the stars of the Netflix series Stranger Things, has reportedly been denied entry to the US, being turned away at the border after traces of a drug thought to be cocaine were found in his luggage.

Per reports in UK newspaper The Sun, the 23-year-old actor, who plays Jonathan Byers on Stranger Things, had flown to the US to attend the premiere of the show’s second season, although he did not actually make it to the event.

An anonymous source claimed that he was caught by drug-sniffing dogs shortly after arrival at LAX. Border officials allegedly found “traces” of white powder on his personal items, and a “very small amount” of what was reportedly confirmed to be cocaine.

The source went on to claim that Heaton was not arrested, but that he was “held at the airport for a while and then put back on a plane to London that night.”

Neither Heaton or Netflix have commented on the reason he was absent from the premiere, but strict American immigration laws mean that if he was found with cocaine, he may be have difficulty re-entering the country in future.

Charlie Heaton is rumoured to be dating his co-star Natalie Dyer – they were first linked together at the start of this year, when they were seen travelling together a number of times, and have been photographed holding hands.

The second season of Stranger Things, which takes place a year after the first, is streaming now on Netflix.
