Holy Shit, Channel Nine Is Doing A LEGO Building Show Hosted By Hamish Blake

Channel Nine is currently in the process of unveiling their slate of programming for 2019, but network bosses dropped an early bombshell by revealing they’ll be airing a LEGO-building reality series, LEGO Masters, in primetime, and with your old mate Hamish Blake as the host.

Nine has secured the rights to produce an Australian version of the series, which strives to find the nation’s best LEGO builder.

Blake was revealed as the host of the show in quite appropriate circumstances: by waddling out onto the stage in a full-sized minifig suit, before removing the head and revealing his identity.

The series was initially commissioned, quite quietly, back in June, with casting for the series already open.

EndemolShine, who are behind a string of other highly successful Australian reality series like Married at First SightMasterChef, and Australian Ninja Warrior, are serving as the driving force behind the show.

Internationally, the show has proven a hit in the UK, with the series putting contestants through a series of increasingly large-scale LEGO-building projects and challenges in a bid to crown one ultimate LEGO Master.

There’s no exact timeline on when the show will be hitting the airwaves in 2019, but it is expected the show will air in primetime on Nine’s main broadcast channel.

Keep yr eyes and ears peeled for this one, mates. By all accounts it’s gonna be a dang hoot.
