‘SNL’ Fave Vanessa Bayer Is Headed To ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Season 7

Production on Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 7 has officially kicked off and to celebrate, the cast and crew have been posting some very wholesome, very exciting pictures on their socials. And as much as I want to spam you with all of these posts, there’s one in particular that’s got big NBC energy. It’s a picture of Andy Samberg AKA Jake Peralta with his good mate / fellow SNL alum Vanessa Bayer… in Nine-Nine attire.

Samberg didn’t caption the photo so fans were unsure if he was teasing at a guest role on Nine-Nine or a cute as hell skit on SNL. But thanks to the team over at TVLine, we now have confirmation. A rep for NBC said Bayer will guest star in the seventh season, but didn’t share any details about her character. Although based on the picture Samberg shared, we 10/10 know she’s a cop and we sort of know her surname’s either Fogle or Fogle-something. We’ll find out sooner or later.

Bayer is not the first SNL star to cop a guest role on the beloved series. In the past, there’s been Maya Rudolph, Fred Arminsen, Jenny Slate, and Adam Sandler. SNL aside, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Eugene Lee Yang, Sterling K. Brown, queen Nicole Byer and technically Craig Robinson AKA Doug Judy have all guest-starred too.

Bayer joined SNL in 2010 and spent a solid seven years on the main roster before announcing her exit. She has since appeared in a slew of titles including Netflix’s I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinsonproduced by none other than The Lonely Island.

After a truly turbulent year (the unholy Fox cancellation), Brooklyn Nine-Nine was renewed for a seventh season at NBC in February. Filming on S7 kicked off last month, according to all the very epic pictures on social media.

You can catch seasons 1-5 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Netflix now.
