This is not a drill, folks. Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been officially picked up for a seventh season by NBC. Repeat: NOT A DRILL.

NBC bosses officially renewed the very good and hugely beloved cop comedy for a seventh season a short time ago, which will make it the second season to appear on the American Peacock network overall after the show was ingloriously binned by OG network FOX last year.

That revival by NBC began as a 13-episode series order, but was quickly upgraded to 18 in September. The sixth season premiere subsequently dragged in ratings numbers not seen by the show since 2015.

Despite the departure of Chelsea Peretti from the main cast midway through this current season, the remainder of the core cast is expected to return for season seven.

Predictably, the internet is already going Full Boyle over the joyous news.
