With just days to go until Brooklyn Nine-Nine season six arrives – DAYS – the team have done us all a favour and given us a couple of more hints about the upcoming work of art.

Chatting to Varietyshowrunner Dan Goor and the cast revealed some details that will make you want to shout “NOINE-NOINE” into the weekend.

For example: that Hitchcock (Dirk Blocker) and Scully (Joel McKinnon Miller) episode will be an origin story, full of flashbacks, about how the dynamic duo became the cops they came to be.

NOINE-NOINE.

Next up: Gina Linetti (Chelsea Peretti) will have her very own episode to mark her exit from the show, mid-season.

We’ll also be seeing more family time from Captain/Commissioner Raymond Holt (Andre BraugherSergeant Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews), and Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio).

Please read Braugher’s very Captain-Holt description of his character growth this season:

“I think [Holt’s] biggest challenge this year is really dealing with his family — that’s embracing the relationships as they are, embracing his place and status in the world, dealing with his mortality, his legacy, his history. It’s really a question of living within constraints in terms of wanting what you have, as opposed to having what you want. I think Captain Holt is settling down.”

As for our adorable faves, Jake and Amy (Andy Samberg and Melissa Fumero), you can – as always – expect the very best from them.

“The thing I’ve loved the most about how they’ve written Jake and Amy is that they’re consistent,” Fumero told Variety. “This season we’ll see them exploring and just coming to terms with adulting more, but they’re still Jake and Amy.”

Bless.

Oh, here’s something to prepare you for the many tears season six will undoubtedly bring. Stephanie Beatriz, who plays Rosa Diaz, revealed that we’ll be seeing a little more of the usually private detective’s personal life.

“She’s not used to letting anybody in, yet now, over the course of five seasons she’s grown to a place where now it’s valuable to let people in. … You will see Rosa’s personal life literally and figuratively come into the office a little bit more.”

MMMM.
