An Actual ‘Breaking Bad’ Movie Is Starting Production This Bloody Month

Five years after its finale aired, popular drama series, Breaking Bad, is getting a two-hour movie. Luckily, it’ll be helmed by series creator, Vince Gilligan, so we can rest easy knowing the project is in good hands.

Not a lot is known about the film and how it’ll tie into the Breaking Bad universe, but we do know that it centres around “the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom,” The Albuquerque Journal reports. The article also says it’ll be called Greenbriar,” but whether that’s gonna be the final title is not yet confirmed.

That description is pretty vague, but if I, an embarrassingly huge Breaking Bad fan, were to take a wishful guess, it could be about Jesse Pinkman after the events which take place after the series finale. I mean, the dude escapes a pretty rough kidnapping and I’m sure his quest for freedom following that would be rather gnarly.

It’s still not known whether any of the show’s original cast will be returning for the movie, but I’m sure there’ll be some crossover there at the very least. Whether it’ll be a TV movie or appear in cinemas is also in question.

Production is set to being in Albuquerque in mid November and continue until early February, the Journal says.

Needless to say, I’m pretty fucking amped with any new Breaking Bad content. Series prequel, Better Call Saul, is just as good, and at times, even better than the former. You can really tell Gilligan and his crew take great pride in the story, so I have absolute confidence that this movie will meet fan expectations.
