A Hidden Detail In The ‘GoT’ Finale Points To Bran Stark Being The Night King

By now, you’ve surely read about the Game of Thrones theory that Bran Stark is the Night King.

If you haven’t, here’s the full breakdown, but the short story is that Bran will make several attempts to travel back in time and prevent the White Walkers from winning the war. On his final attempt, he’ll warg into the human the Children of the Forest eventually turn into the Night King, and will find himself stuck in time. “It is beautiful beneath the sea, but if you stay too long, you’ll drown.”

The theory doesn’t quite work out how Bran goes from trying to help his family / the realm of men to being the instigator of all their trouble, but hey. You gotta leave something left for George R.R. Martin to work out.

Anyway, a Redditor noticed a teeny tiny clue in the Game of Thrones finale that could – emphasis on ‘could’ – point to Bran becoming the Night King.

It looks like the wights, when entering the Seven Kingdoms, make the outline of a direwolf, a.k.a the Stark sigil.

Look closer:

Looks a bit like the direwolf sigil of House Stark, no?

Here’s an overlay, courtesy of Redditor GoldenShowe2.

Some people are super convinced:

But others, decidedly less so.

TBQH with you, I’m not buying it as confirmation of the Bran / Night King theory (which absolutely has legs). Looks more like a cheeky reference to the Starks, or maybe even nothing more than total coincidence. Game of Thrones has plenty of Easter Eggs, but imo, this ain’t one of them.
