‘The Bold Type’ Season 4 Finally Has An Aussie Premiere Date So It’s Time For A Rewatch

We finally have a premiere for The Bold Type season 4.

The first episode will be hitting Stan on January 23 (on the same day as the series premieres in the U.S.), so you have just enough time to rewatch seasons 1 through 3 first.

The show – which centres around three women working at a Cosmopolitan-type magazine titled Scarlet – has something of a cult following, and is an antithesis to that other big production about a women’s magazine (yes, I’m talking about The Devil Wears Prada). It’s silly, and heart-warming, and handles storylines around sexuality and #MeToo with complexity, sensitivity and truth.

It’s also catnip for anyone who works in media, watching characters deal with anything from Twitter trolls to the avalanche of digital media and the ethical dilemma of writing about progressive issues but being part of the problem. (They want to revamp the entire magazine to be more woke? The day before it goes to print? Absolutely fucking not.)

The editor Jacqueline Carlyle (Melora Hardin) is inspired by former real life editor-in-chief Joanna Coles, who is an executive producer on the show.

The start of season 4 means we’ll finally find out if Jacqueline’s new mag will save her job, if Sutton (Meghann Fahy) will make it as a designer, how Kat (Aisha Dee) will deal with her humiliation after losing the city council vote, and whether Jane (Katie Stevens)….. uh, does more reporting. Or something. Whatever it is, she’ll be fine. She mostly fails up.

Mark your calendars for January 23, and see you in the fashion closet.
