When it comes to biopics, Bohemian Rhapsody did a pretty fabulous job of telling the story of Queen and its leading lad Freddie Mercury and wrapping it up in a neat little package at the end.

But according to Rudi Dolezal, a filmmaker who directed videos for Queen (including ‘Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy’ and ‘I’m Going Slightly Mad’), there are still many more yarns to be told and for that reason, a follow-up film is “being heavily discussed in the Queen family.”
Speaking to Page Six, Dolezal said he reckons the band’s manager Jim Beach, who produced the flick, is keen to make “a sequel that starts with Live Aid.”
It’s worth noting that Queen did not officially break up following Mercury’s death; Brian May and Roger Taylor (who were both consultants on the flick) continued with the band’s name and later added Adam Lambert as a vocalist.
Lambert has toured with the band and most recently performed Queen’s hits ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘We Are The Champions’ at the Oscars, a performance which was met with overall acclaim.
A follow-up flick could potentially look at Mercury’s final years and tell the story of how the band soldiered on following his passing.
Bohemian Rhapsody has made more than $870 million worldwide and won four Oscars last month.
The goss has yet to be confirmed by anyone but Dolezal so we’re taking this one with a grain of salt but it’s certainly an interesting prospect.
