Bob The Drag Queen Will Fill In For Katya On ‘The Trixie And Katya Show’

Last month, when beloved queen Katya announced that she would be taking a break from performing to work on her mental health and overall well-being, many fans wondered what would happen to her Viceland series The Trixie And Katya Show, co-hosted by Trixie Mattel.

There’s no need to worry, though, as earlier today, it was announced that none other than Bob The Drag Queen, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 8 and comedy queen extraordinaire, is going to be filling in for her in her absence.

“For the second half of the season, we decided to get someone to make me look even more beautiful,” said Trixie Mattel today, following the announcement. “Please welcome Bob the Drag Queen.”

“I am so excited to be guesting on The Trixie And Katya Show,” Bob replied. “I’m neither Trixie or Katya, but it is Black History Month so …”

Trixie and Katya both appeared on Season 7 of Drag Race, before launching their own successful web series UNHhhh, which set the template for their current show on Viceland.

Trixie and Bob, meanwhile, have worked together before, co-hosting the UNHhhh panel at last year’s DragCon in New York City, so they already have pretty great chemistry together. Bob will start filling in from February 28, and will stick around for the final five episodes of the season.

Trixie Mattel is currently in the top five of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3, which is streaming on the same day as the U.S. over on Stan. Bob recently released the single ‘Yet Another Dig‘ alongside All Stars 2 winner Alaska.
