Blake Was Apparently Heaps Sick & Delirious When He Forgot Laurina’s Name

The single most awkward moment in Australian reality TV history – DO NOT FIGHT ME ON THIS ONE – took place on Bachelor In Paradise last night, when Blake went to offer his rose to his chosen lady on the island and signed his death warrant instead.

We all watched in absolute goddamn horror as Blake tried to get the word Laurina out of his mouth and somehow landed on “Lenora”. Lenora? Who is that? Like who TF did you think you were speaking to for six whole days, Blake??

Well it appears that there’s a very simple explanation for that mistake, and that would be: the flu. And by “simple”, we mean “wouldn’t pass the sniff test or any other kind of test but suuuuuuure mate”.

Jake Ellis, who has given a number of interviews following his part in last night’s explosive love triangle, told News.com.au that Blake was a pretty ill and a bit delirious.

“To back Blake up, he was very crook at that rose ceremony,” he said. “He literally just got out of bed to walk in and give that rose. We all had a bit of a flu going around, and he was a bit delirious. But god, it was hilarious. Honestly, it was a welcome break from the tension of the rose ceremony. It was definitely needed.”

Yes, I suppose that ongoing tension of working out rose maths and, I don’t know, standing around would definitely get tedious. I’m not being glib. Rose ceremonies seem like a unique form of torture that you suffer to gain an extra 10,000 Instagram followers or find love or why ever else people go on these shows.

Anyway, Laurina has firmly written Blake off forever and ever now, so all I can say is: Laurina, welcome to the club.
