‘Black Mirror’ Has Officially Been Renewed For A Fifth Future-Ruining Season

Good news for those of you who can’t get enough of staring into the gaping abyss of the horrible future, Netflix has confirmed that Black Mirror will be returning for season five at some point reasonably soon.

Charlie Brooker‘s widely viewed and talked-about-ad-nauseam sci-fi series premiered its fourth series on December 29th of last year, with predictable critical acclaim following. But only this morning has the streaming behemoth confirmed that the series will be back for another dig.

A cryptic teaser appeared online earlier this morning promising only that the show will “be right back,” which had fans scratching the ole’ noggins all over the place.

Netflix subsequently confirmed that the teaser signifies that the series has been renewed for a fifth season.

While there’s quite obviously no other information available at present – nothing on specific release dates or even how many episodes will be in the upcoming season – we do know that season four covered topics as wide-ranging as dating apps, surveillance, right through to robotic dogs.

So any new season is bound to include… well, just about bloody anything, really. The show had the British Prime Minister fuck a pig on live global TV, after all. It’s not a program encumbered by many boundaries.

No matter what winds up being put to air, expect some brains to be wrinkled.
