The Mirror reports a Twitter user took a screenshot of a tweet from official Netflix account NX, showing selected programmes on the streaming platform’s December release schedule.

Many of the shows and films on that list match up with Netflix Australia’s official December release schedule, but Black Mirror: Bandersnatch makes an unexpected appearance with an apparent air-date of December 28.

NX is thought to have deleted the tweet, but the apparent screenshots remain:

Two earlier tweets have also been pointed out as potential proof of the leak’s authenticity. In April, another Twitter user claimed Black Mirror was being filmed in their south London office building. They showed a photo of a sheet bearing the name Bandersnatch, and a gear case labelled with a Black Mirror tag.

The alleged leak has sparked rumours among fans that Bandersnatch could be another festive episode of the show, but the timing seems just a bit off to fully capitalise on the whole Christmas thing.

There has also been speculation that Bandersnatch could just be the fabled choose-your-own adventure episode that is reportedly in development.

For those playing along at home, a bandersnatch is one of the many a fictional creatures cooked up by none other than Lewis Carroll. In his legendary nonsense poem Jabberwocky, the bandersnatch is described as “frumious.” Make of that what you will.
