‘Big Little Lies’ Season 2 Is Maybe Kinda Definitely Coming In 2018

Big Little Lies Season 2

It’s Friday, and we bloody well deserve some good news. And folks, we’ve got it for you: your fave show of 2017, the completely excellent Big Little Lies, is kinda sorta pretty much definitely going to get a second season – and soon.

According to sources that dished to TVLine, the HBO series starring ya girls Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoe Kravitz, is reportedly going into production in the first half of 2018, more specifically the US Spring/Aus Autumn.

While HBO haven’t yet confirmed anything, a second series seems pretty damn likely considering Big Little Lies scooped up 8 Emmys this year and basically everybody loved the shit out of it.

Based on Aussie author Liane Moriarty’s book of the same name, the plot of which was covered in the first season, a second outing will have to cover entirely new ground.

Moriarty has already hinted that she’s been working on ideas for it, and the show’s executive producer/writer David E. Kelley told TVLine that it’s all a matter of aligning the stacked cast’s schedules.

We’re kicking around ideas and trying to lasso the talent [and] get the band back together. It’s just a lot of logistical things. But I’m optimistic because everyone wants to do it. We feel we still have storytelling to do.

We’ll keep an eye on this one and absolutely update you the second it is confirmed.
