‘GoT’ Star Bella Ramsey Says She’ll Miss Shaming “A Load Of Grown Men”

Bella Ramsey

Lady Lyanna Mormont, the mighty Lady of Bear Island, simply rules. Played by 15-year-old Bella Ramsey, she first appeared in season six of Game of Thrones and quickly established herself as a total boss. She routinely tells grown adults to shove it and in the season eight premiere, after being the first to proclaim Jon Snow as King in the North, tells him: “You left Winterfell a King and came back a b-“.

Dead or alive at the end of GoT, it’s clear fans will miss Lady Mormont a whole bloody lot.

Speaking to The Cut, Ramsey revealed what she’ll miss most about her fearless character.

In total Lyanna Mormont fashion, she answered: “I think the opportunity to stand up in front of a load of grown men and shame them.”

Boss.

“I think playing confident characters also helps with your own confidence,” she continued. “Say you’re in a situation where you’re feeling anxious or nervous — you can become a character and work through it that way. I’ll miss that about her.”

In another interview with Entertainment WeeklyRamsey said she isn’t as confident as Lady Mormont in real life but that’s why she respects her so much.

“I love her defiance; she’s a badass. Being able to stand up there and shame all these grown men was super-cool.”

Ramsey also told The Cut that she likes how Lady Mormont “sticks up for what she believes in, no matter the cost or the consequences.

“I really admire her confidence, how she can just stand up without flinching in front of all those people,” she said.

Being 15, Ramsey isn’t 100 per cent across all seasons… for understandable reasons but from what she’s seen, the actor said her favourite characters are Arya Stark because “she’s little and powerful” and Samwell Tarly because “he’s kind of the odd one out in the Game of Thrones world because he’s more quiet and reserved.”
