The masterminds behind The Bachelorette‘s upcoming season are reportedly contemplating switching out Ali Oetjen for spurned The Bachelor contestant Nikki Gogan, after Oetjen was slapped with the most heinous allegation of all – that she’s a bit boring.

According to New Weekly, the show’s network Channel 10 fielded the suggestion after a backlash to Oetjen’s casting and the dramatic allegations surrounding her split from former Bachelor In Paradise partner, Grent Kemp.
(If you’re lost in this sea of Bachie-related names, we have only this to say: that’s probably the point. It’s a self-sustaining ecosystem, and soon no fresh meat will be required at all.)
The gossip mag quotes an insider with apparent knowledge of the situation, who says Oetjen’s casting has been seen as a “bit of a disaster” by producers, and that Richie Strahan‘s almost-partner Gogan could be a capable replacement.
New Weekly states the show is still in the casting stages, but a switch-up at this point would still be remarkable for the series. We’re sure producers implicitly support off-screen drama to bolster ratings, but never before has a locked-in contestant been done so dirty before the show goes to air.
As it stands, Oetjen is still the one to watch when The Bachelorette returns later this year.
