Season six of the Australian series of The Bachelor certainly threw us for a loop when Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins was announced as the Bachelor, but they have somehow managed to outdo themselves with the announcement of the Bachelor for season seven: This time the Bachelor will be a pair of glasses.
We’re just as surprised as you.
In a post making the announcement, it was revealed that the hunk vying for the hearts of the contestants will be a thick-framed pair of black glasses with gold accent. It is unclear what the glasses’ relationship is to the anonymous besuited man who appears to be holding the glasses up to the camera.
There’s not much that can be ascertained about our upcoming Bachelor from this sparse post, but it does certainly seem like he doesn’t have anti-reflective coating.
The announcement marks a significant departure from previous series, which have usually featured a human man at the centre of the show, and will be a global first for the franchise.
The series is expected to air later this year.
