While Olivia Vivian is rightly making national headlines for her outstanding Australian Ninja Warrior performance, in which she bloody backflipped up the Warped Wall, becoming the first woman in the world to nail the move.
She’s also getting plenty of social buzz bc her partner, Ben Polson, is also a contestant on Australian Ninja Warrior. They also MET DURING TRAINING FOR THE SHOW. It’s the perfect love story – two extremely fit folks bonding over their shared love of burpees, together forever doing weird fitness-couple shit like this:
“After the first season, I decided to find a Ninja gym,” Olivia told TheFIX. “I figured that was the best way to start training towards conquering the warped wall. Months went by at the Ninja Academy and I knew of Ben and I think we just had that baseline friendship where you’re just like, “Hey, how are you?” sort of thing.”
She said she had zero intention of dating someone at her gym, but a chance meeting solo formed a connection between the two of them.
We started this group of influencing more and new people to get into Ninja, and one week we had a meeting and the other two members didn’t show up — it was just Ben and I. A one-hour meeting ended up going for six or seven hours and we didn’t get any work done. It was just one of those moments where we discovered we had a really strong connection and then we hung out as friends for a while and it just developed from there.
So are we gonna see the two ninja warriors get hitched in the future? Astoundingly, Ben hasn’t ruled out an ACTUAL NINJA WEDDING.
Things like Ninja wedding and things like that, when the time comes, if the time comes, who knows what’s going to happen? But if no one has done it yet then hell yeah we’d love to be the first to throw something wild and have some sort of cannonballs and all sorts of Ninja obstacles flying through the wedding, but it’s not any time soon.
Would pay good money to see that televised tbh.
