Amy Poehler Is Ready For A ‘Parks & Recreation’ Reunion & Extremely Same

Screw it! We’re doing reunions for everything nowadays. Why not something hugely beloved that was actually really good? Like Parks & Recreation? Why the hell not? Amy Poehler is keen, as it turns out. So let’s bloody do it. Let’s just go back to Pawnee and pretend it never went off the air.

Poehler, the unmistakable face behind Leslie Knope aka history’s most beloved local government official, is ready, willing, and able to get back on the proverbial horse for a Parks & Rec reunion at the drop of a hat, according to comments made at a recent public appearance.

Amy Poehler was the (quite obvious) guest of honour for the 10th Anniversary dinner of her eponymous Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls organisation on Monday night, and dropped a hell of a juicy dangler about her personal enthusiasm for another stint in Indiana.

Speaking to Variety, Poehler mentioned she was good to go pretty much whenever the call comes in.

I am technically available. I have like six of Leslie’s blazers in my closet, so anytime.

Yes. Yes please. Yes thanks.

But before we all go dousing our waffles in truly criminal amounts of whipped cream, there’s a hitch: Mike Schur, the show’s creator, is a little tied up right now with another show you may have heard of called The Good Place.

Poehler knows this is the one, and really only, hurdle standing in the way of destiny, and admitted as much on Monday.

Our king is busy doing his highly successful show, The Good Place. We really can’t jump without [Mike Schur]. So when Mike is good and ready, I’m sure we’ll show up like good soldiers.

What does this mean for right now? Not much. Is this still *literally* the best news we’ve heard all day? You bet your ass.

Do you Good Place work and then make it happen, Mike. The world blows without Pawnee.
