‘American Vandal’, Too Pure For This World, Has Been Cancelled By Netflix

American Vandal

In fairly devastating news for comedy fans, it has been revealed today that American Vandal, the hilarious true crime spoof that saw teen detectives solving mysteries related to poop and spray-painted dicks, has been cancelled by Netflix.

In a statement released earlier today, the streaming service said:

“American Vandal will not return for a third season. We’re very grateful to the creators, writers, cast and crew for bringing their innovative comedy to Netflix, and to the fans and critics who embraced its unique and unconventional humor.”

The show debuted in 2017 and developed a cult following for its pitch-perfect send-up of serious true crime shows like Making A Murderer.

The first season dealt with the mystery of who drew dicks on teachers’ cars at a southern California high school, while the second explored a crime spree by a mysterious bandit known as The Turd Burglar.

The best part of American Vandal is that it worked equally well as a true crime thriller and a comedy, with elaborate twists and turns to keep you guessing until the very last episode.

When news of the cancellation came through, the producers had already begun  plotting a third season, and CBS TV Studios have reportedly had a number of calls about the possibility of reviving it on another network.
