The ‘Pillow Talk’ singer fired off a tweet that read, “I’d like [to] apologise for basically being a shit person.”
While he didn’t actually stipulate who the tweet was aimed at, fans have interpreted his confession as an apology to Louis who recently called him out for not being there when his mother passed away in 2016.
“I had a couple of calls with him after I lost my mum, and all the boys had agreed to come to that performance, and he didn’t show, so that really bugged me,” Tomlinson said of Malik.
“It was just seeing everyone there—Harry, Niall, and Liam—that was what I needed that night, that support. So on the other end of the spectrum, it kind of really showed. So, eh, I hope he’s alright, but…”
Zayn hasn’t confirmed if his tweet was in reference to Louis’ comments, but he did respond to concern from fans, saying, “Currently happy, could be happier. Thanks for all the love and thoughts yesterday just had a vent ha x.”

Earlier this month, Félicité Tomlinson, Louis’ 18-year-old sister, was found dead from a suspected heart attack, which is what may have prompted the apology.
The model and social media influencer reportedly collapsed after a suspected heart attack at her London apartment.
Following her tragic passing, her younger twin sisters, Phoebe Tomlinson and Daisy Tomlinson both took to Instagram to pay tribute to their late sibling.
