Zac Efron Just Gave Us A Sneak Peek At His New Stan Film And I Legit Did Not Recognise Him

Here it is, mates: our first peek at the new Stan Original Film starring ya boi Zac Efron (a.k.a. the reason why he fled from Byron Bay, where he’s been staying, to South Australia).

The exciting new flick is called Gold and it’s a sick Aussie thriller that’s all about hunger, greed, and the lengths people will go to for $$$.

Peep the plot summary below:

When two drifters travelling through the outback stumble across the biggest gold nugget ever found, the dream of immense wealth and greed takes hold. They hatch a plan to protect and excavate their bounty with one man leaving to secure the necessary equipment. The other man remains and must endure the harsh desert climate, preying wolves and intruders, whilst battling the creeping doubt that he has been abandoned to his own fate.

The ever-mysterious Zac has given us a sweet glimpse at the film via a piccy shared to his Instagram. Honestly, when I first saw the shot, I assumed he was just posting a random image of a different actor from the movie, but upon closer inspection, I’ve realised that it really is Zac and ooh boi, he’s gone full true blue Aussie.

“No signal out here in the desert…” he captioned the image.

As you can see, filming for the movie is well underway, with development and financing done with the assistance of the South Australian Film Corporation.

The Stan Original Film Gold will premiere on Stan and in cinemas in 2021. Can’t bloody wait.
