The annual Scorpio full moon is rising tonight and with it, loads of secrets, gossip and tea will come to the surface, including some newfound intel about Zac Efron and his recent breakup from Vanessa Valladares.

An insider spoke to Us Weekly and spilled some more deets about why they split, starting with the stock standard ~he was too busy and important to hold down a relationship~.

“Zac is about to start a busy year of filming and wanted to make a clean break now,” the insider says, pointing out that the pair had been living together near Byron Bay, Australia, which Zac was paying for. But since Zac is scheduled to leave the country to jet-set off to Canada in May to start working on Firestarter (a film starring Anne Hathaway) for two months, he reportedly didn’t want to leave Vanessa home alone in the house that he’s paying for. I’m sorry, what?

The source added that his “intense filming schedule” would mean he’d be paying for a house he’s not living in, which “wasn’t going to work for him.”

Due to COVID, Vanessa is unable to fly to Canada with Zac, and apparently he’s “secretly relieved about this turn of events as he feels she would be a distraction to him during the filming of the intense drama.”

Apparently Zac’s mates pointed out that “he was getting in too deep and spending too much time” with Vanessa so soon after they got together.

The pair reportedly spent “24/7” together and it was becoming too much for Zac.

“He felt it was best to end this now,” the insider says.

Another insider supported this version of events to PEOPLE magazine.

“Zac broke things off with Vanessa,” the source insists. “It just didn’t feel right to him anymore.”

“Zac will still stay in Australia [before travelling to Canada],” the source added. “He just loves Australia so much. He is working and busy with several upcoming projects. He is happy, healthy and enjoying life.”

Another possible reason for the split is a wild rumour that Zac Efron was livid after learning that Vanessa would be taking part in the Netflix influencer series, Byron Baes.

Whether it’s that or the fact that he didn’t want to leave Vanessa alone in his home while he’s away, either way it sounds like a pretty dog move to me. Like he tossed her to the side the moment he was done with her, even though she dropped everything to accompany him on all his projects throughout their 10 month relationship to be his Aussie support system when he had no one. I dunno, I just don’t like it.
