The moment Zac Efron whacked on an Akubra hat and camped out in the bush, we officially claimed him as our honorary Aussie, and since then, we’ve been fixated on every move he makes.
Filming for season 2 of his Netflix series, Down to Earth with Zac Efron, has taken him all around Australia, from the swish suburb of Paddington where he shot a scene with girlfriend Vanessa Valladares and brother Dylan Efron to his jaunt to Kangaroo Island, Zac Efron is on a mission to catch all the local hotspots and we love that for him.
Over the Easter long weekend, Zac and Vanessa reportedly stayed at a rural motel and the kiddo of a woman who works there spilled the tea to international goss Insta Dexumoi.
Apparently Zac is “the nicest celeb she’s ever met” and, you’ll bloody love this, he “smells nice nice.”
She went on to say that his girlfriend Vanessa, who he met during his stay at Byron Bay, was “also lovely and she did hers and Zac’s washing.”
Although she doesn’t stipulate where the motel is based, I found this yarn that claims Zac and his girlfriend stayed in Dubbo over the long weekend, so it’s probs the same one.
This isn’t the first anonymous tip from Aus that’s painted Zac Efron as a top bloke.
A Byron Bay resident recently wrote in to gossip Instagram page Celeb Spellcheck during a special segment where they asked fans to send in sweet DMs from local stars and, as I wrote earlier, Zac Efron definitely qualifies as an honorary Aussie.
The local yokel said that Zac “is so lovely” and always v. friendly to waiters, servers, etc which we absolutely bloody love to hear.
The anonymous Byron resident also described Zac as a “super chilled down to earth guy.” Bless!
According to Who Magazine, Zac and Vanessa were set up by her manager at the Byron Bay cafe where they met, The General Store.
Vanessa was working at the popular café as well as the Light Years restaurant when she met the Hollywood star back in July last year and her boss seemingly played matchmaker. What a boss.
“They were introduced by her boss,” a source told the local mag, adding that she’s a “lucky girl.”
Meanwhile another source told PEOPLE that the pair “started hanging out in July and recently took a ski trip together.”
“You can tell that they are having fun,” they added. “She spends a lot of time at his house.”
