Happy Halloween everybody. The spookiest day of the year officially falls today on the 31st of October, however large numbers of the Australian population revealed themselves as practicing pagans (or at least major dress-up enthusiasts) over the entire weekend. We spotted quite a few Halloween-costume highlights from the weekend, worn by our friends and readers. Here’s a few of our favourites…
SPIDEY-COURIER
This courier rolled by the office this morning with a delivery and dressed in a Spiderman mask. Committing to Halloween enough to incorporate a costume into your work day deserves kudos.
COLONEL GADDAFI
Pedestrian reader Andrea sent us this shot of a chap dressed as the recently deceased Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi – one of the Topical Halloween Costume Ideas we had predicted would be big in 2011. This effort was an accurate depiction.

Kean sent us this picture of him dressed in another topical costume as the also-recently-deceased Steve Jobs. This photo was taken on an iPhone making it all the more meaningful and meta. RIP.
THE KARDASHIANS
Brooke tweeted us a pic of some friends costumed as Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian re-imagined as zombies, a creepy riff on an average zombie costume. Extra credit for the choice of pose here, which emphasises the Kardashian-esque butts, which one can only assume are padded.
DEAD GIRL
Pedestrian staff member Claire hosted a Halloween party. She wore white contact lenses and carried around a baby doll and looked hell frightening. She isn’t at work today so we are guessing she scared herself to death. RIP Claire.
COCKROACH
Another member of staff, Drizzle, dressed up as a cockroach. He had a pretty quiet night.
