A Bridgerton Spinoff About Young Queen Charlotte Is Coming & My Drawers Are Already In Disarray

Bridgerton

More Bridgerton horniness is on the way in a spinoff about young Queen Charlotte, and it’s already setting a fire deep in my loins.

The spinoff will delve into the story of young Queen Charlotte, who historically was thought to be Britain’s first Black queen (as she may have had African ancestry). The series will also follow the lives of a young Violet Bridgerton and Lady Danbury, according to Variety.

“Many viewers had never known the story of Queen Charlotte before Bridgerton brought her to the world, and I’m thrilled this new series will further expand her story and the world of Bridgerton,” Netflix’s head of global TV Bela Bajaria said.instgram

On the show Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte (played by Golda Rosheuvel) is the one who picks Daphne (played by Phoebe Dynevor) as the societal season’s incomparable (aka hottest bitch in town). She also tries to find out the true identity of Lady Whistledown, which spoiler alert: is Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).

It’s also revealed later in the series that Charlotte’s husband, King George III, is unwell and that’s why he is never present at the various societal events. The real King George III was also unwell, and was known as the “mad king”.  The King had to frequently hide from the public eye due to multiple manic episodes.

It isn’t known yet whether the spinoff will explore this part of George and Charlotte’s life, but it would be pretty interesting if it does.

Shonda Rhimes (the showrunner for Grey’s Anatomy) will be writing and executive producing the series, so we know it’s going to be an absolute killer of a series.

“As we continue to expand the world of Bridgerton, we now have the opportunity to devote even more of the Shondaland fold to the Bridgerton-verse,” Rhimes said.

Look, as long as we get to see more raunchy sex scenes and hotties like Regé-Jean Page I’ll be happy.
