Gossip Girl babe Penn Badgley returns as stalky bookstore manager Joe Goldberg, who scared the crap out of us in season 1 after becoming obsessed with his customer Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail), using social media to stalk her.
Much like the first season, the next offering will be based loosely on Caroline Kepnes’ bestselling novel titled Hidden Bodies.
It will follow Goldberg to Los Angeles, where he meets Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), an aspiring chef who doesn’t care much for social media, similar to his former target.
James Scully and Jenna Ortega return for season 2, along with Ambyr Childers who has been promoted to series regular and newcomer Carmela Zumbado who joins as a regular.
Chris D’Elia, Adwin Brown, Robin Lord Taylor, Marielle Scott , Melanie Field, Magda Apanowicz, Danny Vasquez and Charlie Barnett are set to recur in Season 2.
Speaking of the second series, author Kepnes told The Hollywood Reporter, “Joe can’t stop looking over his shoulder. The problem with hidden bodies is that they don’t always stay that way. They re-emerge, like dark thoughts, multiplying and threatening to destroy what Joe wants most: true love.
“And when he finds it in a darkened room in Soho House, he’s more desperate than ever to keep his secrets buried. He doesn’t want to hurt his new girlfriend – he wants to be with her forever.
“But if she ever finds out what he’s done, he may not have a choice.”
