The world can be a pretty cruel and uncaring place, so you’ll have to excuse us for being wildly stoked on the fact RuPaul and his partner of 23 years, Australian “rancher” / station owner Georges LeBar, got hitched earlier this year.
The Drag Race overlord and legitimate icon revealed this blessed fact during an interview with Hollywood Today Live, after he was straight-up asked if he’d ever marry LeBar. That fortuitous inquiry lead to RuPaul spilling, as he said “I’ve never said this on television before – we are married.”
“This is a scoop. I’ve never said it before.”
He explained that they actually exchanged vows on January 23 this year, the same date they met on the dancefloor at New York club Limelight in 1994. Bless ’em.
Despite how perf the news is, Rupaul kept it pretty light, saying “we were looking into it really for tax breaks and financial things.”
Take a moment to imagine how wild that wedding would be. Congrats, you two.
