The Folks Behind ‘Phoebe’s Fall’ Have A New True Crime Podcast On The Way

If you’re into Australian true crime podcasts, you’ve almost definitely had a listen to Phoebe’s Fall. The podcast followed the death of Phoebe Handsjuk, who fell to her death via a garbage compactor in an apartment building back in 2010.

Now, the folks behind the incredible podcast (which actually led to the Victorian Government reforming the Coroner’s Act in June this year) are back with new true crime podcast Wrong Skin, which follows the disappearance of Indigenous couple Julie Buck and Richard Milgin in 1994.

Julie and Richard vanished from the remote Aboriginal community of Looma in the Kimberley region of WA, and the podcast is helmed by Walkley Award-winning investigative reporter Richard Baker.

“What started with a phone call, has opened up the biggest can of worms about ancient culture and the treatment of women. Even more than that it’s all about power and control,” he says. “It took a year of long phone conversations and trips to the Kimberley to gain the trust of those closest to Richard and Julie. They’re scared, but they’re brave enough to speak up.”

Wrong Skin premieres on Sunday 15th July via  iTunes, or search ‘Wrong Skin’ wherever you find your podcasts.
