Woody Harrelson Wins World Cup Preview Match

The title of this post should be sending bullshit detectors into overdrive but in a world where strange things do happen and not all videos are thinly veiled marketing messages, this is the real deal. Actor Woody Harrelson (No Country For Old Men, Zombieland, Natural Born Killers) a 48 year old marijuana advocate, ultimate frisbee enthusiast and Maui resident pulled a White Men Can’t Jump on Planet Earth and kicked the winning goal in a pre World Cup Soccer Aid match between the unbeaten English and The Rest Of The World (for the benefit of UNICEF).

Both teams were comprised of retired football superstars (Alan Shearer, Jamie Redknapp, Zinedine Zidane, Ryan Giggs) and celebrities (Robbie Williams, Mike Myers, Gordon Ramsay, Simon Baker) and with the score deadlocked at 2-2 by full time, the match went to a nail biting penalty shootout. With the game on the line in front of 65,000 screaming fans at Manchester United’s home ground of Old Trafford, Harrelson, who was The Rest Of The World’s 11th penalty taker and potential hero, had one fleeting shot at unbridled, unscripted sporting glory. This is what happened…

I don’t particularly like football or Woody Harrelson but they’re my favourite two things at this point in time.

Isn’t it time you visited Old Trafford for yourself?
