Though we all kinda knew it was coming, it’s now official, and we could not be more excited – Wonder Woman 2 is happening!
The news was announced overnight at San Diego Comic Con during a Warner Bros. panel, and makes sense, given that Wonder Woman is the studio’s third-biggest release of all time, behind only The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.
Gal Gadot, who will reprise the role of Diana Prince, was present for the announcement, attending the event to promote her appearance in the upcoming Justice League, together with a raft of other DC superheroes.
Alongside Gadot, that upcoming film will also bring together Ben Affleck as Batman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
Warner Bros. is forging on ahead with its DC cinematic universe, and during the panel, they also revealed plans for Suicide Squad 2, Justice League Dark, Batgirl, The Batman, Green Lantern Corps and The Flash: Flashpoint.
The studio could do with a little hype this weekend, after news broke yesterday that Affleck might be bowing out of the role of Batman earlier than expected, and this is just the thing to do it.
