Genre filmmaking’s consistently wonderful new kid on the block, Edgar Wright, has re-teamed with his regular cohort (Simon Pegg and Nick Frost) for the apocalyptic comedy The World’s End. Simon Pegg plays a middle aged man with a case of Peter Pan syndrome who assembles his childhood buddies for an epic pub crawl through their hometown, finishing at fabled watering hole The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realise the real struggle is for the future – not just theirs but humankind’s, and reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
