Wimbledon Celebrity Sightings, Includes Dogs

“No riff raff please, we’re Wimbledon” reads the freshly instated dress code for Wimbledon, the oldest and most dresscode-adhering tennis tournament in the world.

So far Centre Court has seen the hopes and dreams of favourites such as Rafael Nadal and Australian hopeful Sam Stosur crushed by shocking losses, British blue bloods as well as Sports Illustrated queens (actress and wife of Andy Roddick, Brooklyn Decker) sitting court side, and athletes trying to squeeze tennis shoulders into spaghetti strap dresses to alarming effect at the Pre-Wimbledon Party. No sign of Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany canoodling yet. Weird. Let’s take a look at what’s been happening off the lawn, shall we?

Day Four and Pippa Middleton and brother James look proper posh, innit. Unfortunately for her fans she kept her famous buns firmly under wraps in a classic (read: boring) Orla Kiely dress. The Middleton matriarch also made an appearance but didn’t receive an invitation into the royal box, slumming it with the plebs in the public viewing area instead. She is a commoner after all.

Elsewhere thinspirational it girl (she does look REALLY thin right now you guys) Alexa Chung and friends kept it casual in the Evian Suite, although we’re not sure what the Wimbledon fashion police would have to say about those exposed shoulders. Slutty.

Author JK Rowling scans for the Golden Snitch.

Grace Jones donned a fierce hoodie-trucker cap combo. The Wimbeldon officials are all stoked.

At the Pre-Tournament party tennis player Li Na looked pretty from the neck up but…

…but like so many athletes she is yet to master the basic ‘relaxed hand’ pose.

Other highlights included this affable poodle that presented its (non tennis) balls on the green carpet. Or vagina. Who knows what other madness is about to ensue.

For today we’ll call that game, set and match.
