Willow Smith Supports #FreeTheNipple, Internet Can’t Even Cope

Willow Smith, whose childhood we have taken in our stride, and who in return fills our days with endless wonder, recently joined the #FreeTheNipple campaign, posting an image in protest of censorship, and the internet actually literally can’t even cope.
The image in question features Willow clothed in a shirt emblazoned with a picture of breasts, and may or may not be SFW, depending on how your work feels about magical forever-teens wearing shirts with pictures of breasts on them.
IDK, bounce that one off the HR department if you’re concerned, and then take a look:
Social media is currently in a funk about the inappropriate nature of the image, and Willow is catching a lot of heat thanks to the fact that she is 14 years old, and therefore (we guess?) too young to make a provocative stand against censorship.
Free The Nipple is a self-described equality movement that aims to challenge the notion that images of violence and killing are glorified in the media, while women’s bodies are censored.
Willow Smith joins the likes of Rihanna, Cara Delevingne, Miley Cyrus and Lena Dunham, all of whom have supported the movement, and some of whom have been banned from Instagram as a result.
If the still-underage Smith feels passionate about this particular cause, and wants to find a creative way to support it, then we reckon she’s done a pretty damn solid job of that.
Anyway, here’s a link to that really excellent New York Times profile on Willow and Jaden, which you were probably going to Google after this anyway.
