WATCH: Zelda Williams Explains How She Coped With The Death Of Her Father

Believe it or not, it was the two-year anniversary of the tragic and untimely death of hugely beloved and once-in-a-lifetime comedic talent Robin Williams a few days ago.
Williams passed away on August 11th, 2014, leaving behind a literal planet of mourning fans, and a body of work so utterly influential and prolific that it should seriously be taught in schools.
He also left behind his much loved and cherished family, including daughter Zelda. 25-years-old at the time, Zelda chose to remain publicly tight lipped about her father, and the experience of losing him in such sad circumstances.
Now 27, Zelda appear on Netflix talk show ‘Chelsea‘ to discuss her burgeoning career, both as a fairly busy screenwriter and a cast member on the Freeform series ‘Dead of Summer.’
And for the first time, at least publicly on-camera, Zelda candidly discussed the process of coping with her the loss of her father, and how she managed to find normality again.
It’s a poignant and very touching account of her experiences, and it’s one that anyone who has endured the loss of a parent will relate to.

“I just kept going, ‘OK, well, today I’m going to get up and love what I do. And then tomorrow I’m going to wake up and be happy and love what I do. And then the next day…’ because that’s all you can do.”

That’s a sentence we call all take something from.

Here’s to you, Zelda.
