Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have just delivered their third and final Golden Globes opening monologue (first and second here and here), so flawless in execution that it has effectively rendered useless whatever next year’s schmuck(s) poor attempt will be. How do you beat Tina and Amy? You don’t.
Notable highlights include Amy taking a timely jab at Bill Cosby: “In Into the Woods, Cinderella runs from her prince, Rapunzel is thrown from a tower for her prince and Sleeping Beauty… just thought she was getting coffee with Bill Cosby,” and Tina commenting on Steve Carrell’s Foxcatcher make-up taking two hours to prepare: “Just for comparison, it took me three hours today to prepare for my role as human woman.”
