Watch This Absolutely Flawless ‘Grand Budapest Hotel’ & ‘The Shining’ Mash Up

You don’t know you’ve been missing out on something until it’s sitting there right in front of you, ready to be adored. Just like this Anderson-meets-Kubrick mash up, ready to be devoured today.

Wes Anderson’s flawless, Oscar-grabbing ninth film was one of the most perfect pieces of cinema to grace our screens last year.

And Stanley Kubrick‘s iconic adaptation of Steven King’s ‘The Shining’ has left a long-lasting imprint and fundamentally shaped the thriller genre in Hollywood.

While one tackles the quaint uproar over a painting, Boy With Apple, and the other focuses on a murderer gone rogue, both ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ and ‘The Shining’ feature hotels that make up a Production Designer’s wet dream. When stitched together in a seamless mash up (the transition from 0:14 – 0:16, and the subtle photoshop of the opening book are phenomenal), ‘The Grand Overlook Hotel’, edited by Steve Ramsden, is a glorious sight to behold.

Watch Ralph Fiennes meddle with Jack Nicholson, and redrum go down at the Grand Budapest Hotel below.
