The great thing about small film festivals is that they allow dudes with a modicum of documentary experience to go out and find the strangest characters on the planet. Reid, who is an ancient R&B singer also has an alter-ego, Blowfly, where he gets dressed up in some sort of Mardi Gras/superhero costume and drops rhymes. Of course they loved this at South By South West. Easily the best dynamic since Clark Kent and Superman, ‘The Weird World Of The Blowfly’ documents the life of a man who influenced everyone from Ice Cube to Chuck D of Public Enemy.
