WATCH: The Teaser For The New ‘Twin Peaks’ Novel Is Filled With Secrets

A wise man once said “every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don’t plan it. Don’t wait for it. Just let it happen.”

This is today’s present.

Seemingly emerging from the ether – like most things in Twin Peaks are wont to do – the trailer (!!!) for co-creator Mark Frost’s upcoming novel The Secret History of Twin Peaks is here.

The book promises to act as a bridge between the events of the original series and whatever mind-bending happenstances David Lynch is cooking up for the show’s return.

To be honest, we can only hazard a guess as to the lives of half the characters, let alone what happened to the show’s fkn anthropomorphised cupboard handles, so the 400-odd pageturner will be a welcome (read: necessary) addition to the show’s canon.

Immediately, y’all can see some familiar elements – good coffee (and hot!), pie, and that spiritually-embued log. Elsewhere, peep that final scene, where a dispatch from the ever-shouty Gordon Cole promises to weave the events of Laura Palmer’s death in with those of the present day.
FWIW, Frost said when the book was first announced that it’ll bring “a deeper glimpse into the central mystery that was only touched on by the original series.

This has long been a dream project of mine that will bring a whole other aspect of the world of Twin Peaks to life, for old fans and new. I couldn’t be more thrilled.”
The book arrives on October 18, presumably wrapped in plastic, before the series premieres in 2017.
