HOOOOOOO boy.
Hopefully all DC fans and previously-neutral viewers have now recovered from the terrible travesty that was forced upon us: we are, of course, talking about ‘Suicide Squad‘.
This ardently terrible, plot-less, cheesy, confusing film was panned by critics, and received “mixed” reviews from viewers, and this writer is personally convinced that it was the victim in a intricate Marvel conspiracy to bury DC in the ground forever. Like, David Ayer must’ve been paid off by Marvel. Surely?
ANYWAY, the trailer goes into everything mentioned above, including the horrendous soundtrack and the film’s incessant need to tell you the characters’ names, details, and statistics on-screen, as well as spoon-feed you exactly what each character is planning to do consistently throughout the film.
But where their genius really lays is in the gags about Jared Leto‘s rich rap-loving mobster aesthetic, complete with a too-obvious-to-take-seriously ‘Damaged‘ tattoo on his forehead (in case u were confused bc you are tiny babby incapable of understanding basic film narratives) and a whopping 10 minutes of screen time.
They call him a mixture of James Franco‘s character in ‘Spring Breakers‘ and Jim Carrey‘s ‘Ace Ventura‘, which is so perfect that we could cry but also we’re angry we didn’t think of it.
