Watch: The Frontline of Apple’s iPad 2 Launch In Sydney

What possesses someone to wait 48 hours for a product they could buy in minutes the day after? We have no idea. To investigate we sent our intern Kellie to Apple’s Sydney flagship where Apple acolytes had been queuing since Wednesday to purchase a new and improved iPad 2. With five hours to go, the line trailed from George St, up King and took a left down York. One guys described it as being a part of a “little family” while another said he wanted to “be a part of history.” Weirdly, heaps of them weren’t even Australian! I guess we don’t care so much about firsties. Below, Kellie chats to the tired, Apple-hungry masses.

These dudes had been in line since noon…on Wednesday. One of them was backpacking in Singapore and came to Sydney specifically for the iPad 2 launch. The other guy had to “rush to the airport” for a wedding after. CRAZY.

Dude’s first time “sleeping rough” was “pained”. Aww.

Mr. No Sleep here is looking forward to FaceTime.

Aussie television journalist Peter Harvey chats to people in line.

This guy played “Big Two” for four hours while in line. If you don’t know any asian people Big Two is a really popular card game that the majority of asian people enjoy playing, myself included.
