Watch The First Trailer For ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’

Here’s your first official look at The Usual Suspects director Bryan Singer’s return to the X-Men Franchise in the first full trailer for X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Oh man, where do we start? How about the most efficient way to amalgamate the characters/actors from its primary franchise with the characters/actors from a well-received origin story? Time travel of course. Time travel solves everything.

And so we’re introduced to a dystopian present day in which Peter Dinklage’s Bolivar Trask has invented invincible agents of genocide – the Sentinels – all but ensuring mutant extinction. To avoid total annihilation of mutants everywhere, Old Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Old Magneto (Ian McKellen) send Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) back in time to convince Young Professor X (James McAvoy) and Young Magneto (Michael Fassbender) to team up and destroy the threat at its source, which is kind of like the X-Men version of going back in time to kill Hitler.

Days of Future Past is scheduled for release May 23rd 2014 and has one of the most stacked ensemble casts we’ve ever seen: Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Peter Dinklage, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.

Are your claws extending or are you just excited to watch this?
