The long-awaited Wii-U edition of Smash Bros. launches in North America on November 21 and Australia a few weeks later on December 6. The good people at IGN somehow got their hands on the opening animation for the game, and it confirms what we sort of suspected all along – namely, that it’s going to be stacked with classic Nintendo characters, cause massive rifts in your friendships, and eat up weeks and weeks of your life, even if you end up playing as Kirby 80% of the time. At a press conference earlier this week, Nintendo dropped a number of details about Smash Bros. For Wii-U – you can read the full list over on Kotaku, but suffice to say, the upcoming console version improves on the already pretty epic 3DS one in quite a number of ways. Also worth noting is the fact that players who purchase both versions will be able to download Mewtwo for free in each.
