Well, if you were hankering for an exaggeratedly action-packed film about former CIA agent/whistleblower Edward Snowden‘s life, filled with many “computer hacking” images of blinking numbers and loading bars, then you got your wish.
We have our first look at Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Snowden, and if we’re honest, JGL is the least of our worries here. Rhys Ifans‘ bossman character is as angry and Scottish as always (cool fact: he’s actual Welsh IRL), and Nicholas Cage makes a short appearance to deliver the ultimately terrible line, “Find the terrorist in the internet haystack”.
Then there’s a Rubik’s Cube that is pinpointed in the trailer as a turning point to help him sneak data out of a building, so maybe the Rubik’s Cube is the true whistleblower, and Snowden was just a pawn in the whole game. 
We’d really recommend you do not take your friend who smokes way too much weed (if you’re confused, we mean the mate who says ‘That’s what they WANT YOU TO THINK‘ in discussions about war in the Middle East) to see this movie.
